Formula Explained
Net carbs are defined as total carbohydrates minus dietary fiber. Fiber passes through the digestive system largely undigested, so it does not raise blood sugar the way sugar and starch do. Honey, however, contains very little fiber — about 0.2 g per 100 g — which means the net carb value ends up almost identical to the total carb value for practical purposes.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Confusing volume with weight. One tablespoon of honey weighs about 21 g, but a heaping spoonful can hold noticeably more. For precision, weigh honey on a kitchen scale.
